This wire was returned by a customer
for a warranty replacement, 3 of the 4 wires in
this set were similarly damaged.
Diagnosis by automotive technician:
Return the spark plug wire set to the manufacturer.
Diagnosis by Magnecor:
We have no idea what bit into the silicone spark plug boots to gouge out the
chunks. We can only assume the customer claiming warranty either thinks the
wires are cannibalistic or damage to the wires resulting from an accident or
carelessness should be covered under warranty.
Suggested remedy:
Apart from
the damage to the spark plug boots, the wire set is in good condition and can be
repaired by replacing the damaged boots. The lesson here is that a simple inspection of spark plug wires
will often show the cause of a suspected spark plug wire related problem, which can
often be immediately and easily remedied.
